CineKink 2013 Opening Night
Cinekink 2013 kicks off tonight. Cherry La Voix from The Naked Zinester will be performing for the crowd! I couldn't be more excited for the exposure for her/us. It's really exciting to have a piece I'm so proud of in festival. If you're in NYC check it out.

The Naked Zinester: Way Too Indie review
Big news! We have just been reviewed by Way Too Indie! This is a huge surprise and honor. I'm so stoked. The review is glowing and Yoshi's camera work is applauded. I didn't think I'd have a film review seated next to the two new films from Oscilloscope, and would have garnered a better review.
9.2
Congrats to everyone!

The Naked Zinester: Final Thoughts
This release has been truly overwhelming. 10,000 views in 3 days? I don't even know how to wrap my head around that number.
Thank you to each and every person who shared it. We couldn't have gotten so much attention without your help. I wish I could thank each and everyone of you, and I my even try in between working on our next projects.
Thank you to all of the blogs!
Thank you to the entire TurnStyle Films team for all of your hard work on the project itself. As well as pushing it like crazy over the weekend. Everyone has been unbelievably committed.
I managed to get it under the nose of the vastly talented director, Ian Mcfarland. If you still haven't watched Rungs in a Ladder, do yourself a favor and click on it right now. My jaw literally hit the floor while watching it. That being said, it was obviously a surprise to me that he had nothing but glowing things to say about The Naked Zinester. It was a great feeling to hear those compliments coming from such a talented person.
Last but obviously not least I'd like to thank Aaron, Meg and Cherry again. I don't think I can thank them enough. This has been our biggest release ever and it all due to them. I'm so glad they invited us down and let shoot with them. They took a chance on us when they didn't even know us and gave us some of the best content we've shot to date.
Let's see how high we can get this thing. Let's see where it'll take us.

The Naked Zinester: *Now Online*
I had been following Aaron Tsuru on Instagram for almost a year when I finally contacted him. I loved his photography style. The way he photographed women really grabbed me. There is a very vulnerable, voyeuristic edge to it that reminded me of some of my favorite films (Gummo, La Promesse, Faces). I knew that I had to work with him. So I sent him a message. He was very encouraging and excited work with us. We managed to grab this the day before Cherry La Voix moved away and only a week or so before the Tsuru's did. I think you can feel the sense of change and urgency when you watch it. Both of them seem really excited for the next chapter in their lives. I'm happy we managed to capture it.
The Naked Zinester is a short documentary that explores the life and work of Aaron Tsuru. Aaron is an underground photographer and zine maker who has risen to cult status on the internet for being to creator of tsururadio.com and tsurufoto.com
Official Selection Cinekink 2013
From Tsurufoto.com: "Tsurufoto is the photographical field observations, wanderings & creations of Aaron Tsuru! I use photography (analog, digital, and variations & combinations of both), short films, and zines to celebrate all things beautiful, weird, & wonderful, exploring our imperfections that make us unique and perfect in our own way. DIY, through and through... Half the fun is figuring it all out through trials and many, many errors. Some of our greatest successes came out of massive failures. When an idea pops into my noggin', I do what I can with the resources I have to make it real. It's always worth trying. Many of my works are expressed through nudity & sexuality. I've been drawn into that world ever since the days of squinting at scrambled 70s & 80s late night cable euro "art films". Self-publishing a nudie zine, I walk a fine line between art & porn, but it's a line that is fun to walk along, exploring and challenging our held definitions of beauty & sexuality..."
Featured along with Aaron, is the lovely Miss Cherry La Voix. She fills us in on her life of Modeling, singing and burlesque. As well as her past collaborations with Aaron.
