Cellar Door CLE Profile on TurnStyle Films

Check out Cellar Door CLE for the new article they did on TurnStyle Films. It's our first ever official article. We've been in papers before but only ever as a blurb. This is huge for us. A big thanks to Nikki Delamotte for hanging out with us and spreading the word! Click the photo to read the article.

Smoke Screen - Smoke & Lasers

We are extremely proud to present everyone with the new Smoke Screen video! Tons of hard was put in by the whole team on this one. I think it's a massive step forward in our production value and the guys from Smoke Screen killed it on the track as usual.

In our 3rd video for Cleveland hip-hop duo Smoke Screen we wanted to step up our game. September is the 1 year anniversary of the first video we ever worked on with them. It's crazy to think that it's only been a year. In this story, the guys build a time machine in their garage and unlock a door to the future. Not everything goes well though and the guys may be in over their heads on this one.

Akron Film & Pixel Night Recap

Our showing went well last night. Jamie Overstreet, Kayla Muller ad myself were in attendance. The Q&A afforded us a great opportunity to talk to some of the viewers of our work. No real hard hitting questions. Just fun banter.

As a group we'd really like to thank Steve Felix and Akron Film & Pixel for making this night happen. We had a great time and it was great exposure for us. We would love to come back again.

TIFF Diary

Well we're back from TIFF. I feel completely energized. Now that I'm back in Ohio, this place is trying it's damnedest to bring me down. I miss the great conversation with strangers. The well read people. The patrons that surrounded me and chose to read while waiting instead of playing Fruit Ninja or Angry Birds on their IPhones. The TIFF volunteers that took no shit from overly entitled American tourists. I'm sure Canada has it's fair share or dimwits, douche bags and luddites but I was fortunate enough to not meet a single one, which leads me to believe their far better off than America in that respect.

It's the little things up there that restored my faith in my profession. The theaters are amazing and everyone calls them films, not movies.

I miss the chaos of the city. I'm feeling chocked by all the space around me.

I got to speak with one of my heroes Shane Smith, owner of Vice Magazine. I was shaking as he put his enormous hand on my shoulder and encouraged me in what I was doing and thanked me for the compliments I gave.

I could speak about the films we saw for hours. But I'll keep it short saying that they were all amazing and might be the best week of viewing in my entire life.

The live performance of American Beauty starring Christina Hendricks and Bryan Cranston and directed by Jason Reitman, was breathtaking. Janeane from Des Moines was hilarious and heartbreaking. The Master was completely intangible in the best possible way. The Art of Killing was exhausting and bewildering and possibly the best doc I've seen in the past 2 years. And Spring Breakers was the best possible movie I could have ended the weekend on. I'm a long time Harmony Korine fan and this was one of his best. I thought about it that whole way home and cannot wait to see it again. It won't let my mind go.

I'm going to do everything I have in my power to get to the point that we're festival hopping next year. I want to quit my job and work on movies every single day. I don't want to know where I'm going to sleep every night until my head hits the pillow and I want to change the world with my art. Fuck you if you're in my way.

Akron Film & Pixel Night

528356_10150705383127389_352339319_n

TurnStyle Films has just found out that we will be showing our music videos for Shivering Timbers and Smoke Screen at this year's Akron Film and Pixel Night on Sept 13th. We will also be doing a Q&A afterward.

This will be held the week after Jamie Overstreet and myself head up to Canada for Toronto International Film Festival.

Things are starting to get crazy and there are a lot of opportunities and attention coming our way.

We also have head shots from the very talented A.K. Snyder on the way. So we can look all Profesh.

Here is our section of the Program for the showing:
